When a disaster occurs, the clock appears to freeze for everyone affected. Individuals have struggles in healing their physical and emotional wounds, families have trouble coping with losses, the community has troubles in finding hope to realize and reconcile. Everything seems to be at a standstill.
The real help they need is substantial support to move forward. Support to prepare for the new normal. This requires Re Starting their lives. Hence Re:StartSL
Re:StartSL is not a fund. It’s a Cause. A Charitable Cause that focuses on helping individuals, families and the community affected by Easter Sunday Attacks. It focuses on providing the necessary healing and support in the areas we have identified below.

This help needs to be provided over a period of time and there needs to be a sustainable one.
The help we provide requires to be persistent, over a period of time, to ensure our efforts as sustainable and effective in the long run.
Help can be overwhelming. It all exists around an immediate aftermath. The true magnitude is felt after the dust settles.
Our Focus is to engage and provide normalcy to; Individuals | Families & Orphaned | Community | Redevelopment
This can take a day, a week, a month, a year or even a whole lifetime. Engaging sustainably for however long it may take, is what we are trying to achieve.
We have 15 fully committed individuals who will engage with and assist the 3 primary churches and communities that were affected.
We are gathering information on the magnitude of the devastation. We will then categorize the help required into the areas of focus and reach out to the Re:StartSL Community on our Facebook page to come forward and help us out.
We invite the public to make this their initiative by registering on our Facebook page and stating the area of interest (listed under Q2), they would like to help us out with.
A few like-minded people came together to create an avenue for every person who has an urge to help in a sustainable manner to aid in building and supporting communities.
This requires a lot of effort over a prolonged period, which requires a strong workforce to optimize the funds channeled towards charity. Therefore we need this workforce to be voluntary from the public. This makes it a Public Initiative.
We currently are not raising funds. We are assessing the magnitude of the help required. Once we have confirmation on the help required, we will begin the fund raising in consultation with the blessings of the Catholic leadership.
Every organizations and initiatives would want a fulfilling purpose. When you help in situations like this it’s not about being the first or the best. It is about having a meaningful method to transform their lives, from the current trauma that they are in. Re:StartSL’s focus is creating this path.
We encourage and earnestly urge all organizations to collaborate, once we have identified the true magnitude of the help and seek the necessary approvals from the Catholic leadership to fulfill the same.
